Lichen is the name given to a group of skin conditions characterized by the occurrence of a nodular rash or small itchy spots. If you are constantly scratching, there is a risk of infection. The disease is contagious, so if you suspect that you have lichen, you should see a dermatologist immediately for treatment.

Causes of the occurrence of lichen:

Depending on the type of lichen, the symptoms vary. Skin spots, red, pink or brown, which are flaky, itchy and gradually increase in size, should alert. Lichen can appear on any part of the body, including the hair and nails. Children become infected in kindergartens, schools, playgrounds and after contact with pets.

If you notice spots on your skin that you haven't seen before that are causing you discomfort, you should see a dermatologist. Your doctor will examine you, take your anamnesis and appoint a scraping test. With the results of all the studies the treatment will be prescribed. It includes antihistamine, antimicrobial, antifungal drugs. Adhering to all the doctor's recommendations can cure lichen, and avoid reinfection.
